Can You Start a Blog Site?

Welcome back to my blogging journey.  In this entry, I want to talk about starting a blog site and why you would do this.  Sometimes a little frightening but also a lot of fun!

There are so many ways that we as Baby Boomers have to express ourselves…why not a website! Can you start a blog?

Whether through

  • conversation,
  • letters,
  • editorials,
  • or even public speaking.

So why choose to start a blog site?  This is going on the internet and will be available for everyone one to read and comment.  It has gone beyond just thinking about something or having a “coffee-shop” discussion.  It is now in the public domain worldwide.

Write Your Story

I’m truly not trying to frighten or discourage you here.  I just want to ensure that you are aware of the impact of this.  When you create a blog site, you are creating a written record, a journal of your life and experiences.

Therefore, you will want to ensure that what you describe in your blog is something that you are prepared to have everyone read.  Having said all this…

…your blog has now become a written and public record!  That is exciting!  You have taken your knowledge and your passion and have shared it with people that will want to read it.  This should be exhilarating…and fun!

Will It Be Read?

As I sit here typing this blog, I can only imagine who might eventually read it, where they might live, and what they might be doing.  There is both a thrill in knowing that but also a responsibility for what I am writing and how it will be received.  For me as a Baby Boomer, I realize how important this is.

Starting a blog site is not difficult, there are many blog sites that are free to sign up for or have a minimal cost.

  • What matters is the quality content (articles) you put on your site.
  • I continually ask myself this when I am writing Baby Boomers Learn to Blog.
  • Am I providing the quality and the support that is needed?
  • Are you finding answers to the questions you have?

These are things that are most important to me.  Sometimes I let myself get carried away with how my site “looks” instead of what my site “says”.  What helps is to reread my article before I publish it to ensure that it meets the vision I have for the site as well as remaining true to my values as a person.

So now let me ask you: do you think you can start a blog site?

Are you wanting to know how to begin and who should you trust?  If you would like, you can read my review of Wealthy Affiliate here.  Regardless of which “blog host” you choose, you are on your way to your own site, blogging about those things that inspire and motivate you.

Do you have any questions or comments?  Please leave them below and I will get back to you.  Are there topics that interest you or that you would like to know more about?  Drop me a line, I would enjoy hearing from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
